Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso released the export of furniture products worth USD 70,000 produced by PT Inkase Indo Corpora, namely the SME-scale manufacturing industry to France and the United States in Klaten, Central Java, Friday (22 Nov).
The release of this export is in line with the Ministry of Trade’s efforts to continue to encourage SMEs to go global. In addition, it is also to respond to world demand for furniture products which is still high with an annual growth trend of 15.98% and a market share of USD 764.97 billion in 2024.
The Minister of Trade said that in the global furniture trade, Indonesia plays a very important role as the world’s 21st furniture exporter. Indonesia’s export value to the world reached USD 1.83 billion in 2023 and an annual export growth trend of 3.62%.
The Minister of Trade also said that in order to make Indonesia a developed country in 2045, the Ministry of Trade will focus on three main work programs, namely securing the domestic market, expanding the export market, and increasing MSMEs that Dare to Innovate, Adapt (BISA) Exports.
The Ministry of Trade continues to encourage the penetration of Indonesian export products into the global market. In addition, the Ministry of Trade provides various assistance facilities for MSMEs to dare to innovate and be ready to adapt, in the form of assistance in designing furniture products and utilizing trade agreements.
Also present at the event were the Director General of National Export Development, Mardyana Listyowati; Special Staff of the Minister of Trade for Inter-Institutional Relations, Slamet Nur Achmad Effendy; Director of Manufacturing Product Export Development, Dewi Rokhayati; Head of Public Relations Bureau, Muhammad Rivai Abbas; CEO of PT Inkase Indo Corpora, Stefanus Husen; and the Regent of Klaten, Sri Mulyani.
