The Indonesian Capital City Authority (OIKN) together with the United States are working together to build a command and control center (integrated command and control center ICCC) in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) located in parts of Penajam Paser Utara Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province.
“Together with the United States Under Secretary of Commerce, we are launching the ICCC development project in IKN,” said Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation of the IKN Authority, Mohammed Ali Berawi, in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara, Friday.
The new capital city of Indonesia as a global city invites international participation to participate in the development of the Indonesian City, he said again, so that OIKN appreciates the support of the United States in realizing the development of ICCC in IKN.
“The development of ICCC is an opportunity for collaboration and to advance knowledge and technology in the field of smart cities,” he also said.
The launch of the ICCC development project is a continuation of the signing of a grant worth 7.6 million US dollars from the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) on September 20, 2024.
“The cooperation that we provide is a form of the United States Government’s commitment to support the development of the IKN and the close relationship between the two countries,” said Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Marisa Lago.
The development of the ICCC is the largest USTDA grant with the largest value and company participants, she added again, the IKN is not only the capital city but a symbol of growth and sustainability in Indonesia.
“We are proud to be able to collaborate in realizing that vision, developing technology and smart cities,” she said again.
USTDA or the United States Trade and Development Agency is an independent agency of the United States Government to advance economic development and commercial interests of the United States in developing countries.
The second phase of the ICCC development project is a form of technology pilot from eight global companies from the United States.
Companies including Amazon Web Service, Autodesk, Cisco, Esri, IBM, Honeywell, MMCG, and Motorola are implementing smart city technology in Indonesia’s new capital, said Marisa Lago.
