CONFIRMED: Oscar Pistorius To Compete In Rio 2016 Paralympics Under Tight Security

The South Africa Paralympics Committee has reached a consensus with the government, the courts and security agencies to release the imprisoned Oscar Pistorius to compete in this year’s Paralympics.

According to a petition sent to Jacob Zuma by the Paralympics Committee, medals won by Pistorius in these games worth much more than time spent in jail.

The petition added that, Pistorius participation in these games has positive impact on the country and helps put South Africa on the world’s map.

Upon series of meetings with stakeholders, it has been agreed that Oscar Pistorius participates in the upcoming Paralympics amid tight security to make sure he does not escape or tries to harm himself.

The 2016 Paralympics would take place in Rio from 7th to 18th September.
