An Ohio Hospital has confirmed the death of Jamaican Sprinter Usain Bolt.
Rumors about his death reached the Jamaica Mission on Sunday morning few minutes before the hospital’s confirmation.
The 100 and 200m world record holder is said to have been secretly hospitalized in Ohio for the past week.
The cause of his death is not immediately known.
Bolt, 30, was regarded as the fastest human ever timed, he was the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since fully automatic time became mandatory.
Sports Authorities in Jamaica are yet to issue a statement on his demise.
His mother is reported to have fainted upon hearing the news and currently in a stable condition in a Kingston hospital.
